Maurice Turnor Gardner live on NetDocuments

Boutique private client law firm Maurice Turnor Gardner has been live on NetDocuments for around four months following an implementation that they say took three months led by Accesspoint Legal Services.

The UK firm, which spun off from Allen & Overy in 2009, went live at the end of 2022. It was previously using an older version of Tikit P4W for document management as well as using P4W for practice management, but say they found searching for and collaborating on documents difficult, especially for users who spend their working day inside of Outlook, as it took time to switch between the different applications. Lawyers also had issues working remotely via a virtual desktop if they didn’t have good home Wi-Fi.

The firm’s 65 users now have NetDocuments for document and email management, as well as CollabSpaces for sharing and collaborating on documents internally and externally. The firm says that by utilising the integration between the firm’s practice management tool and NetDocuments, Maurice Turnor Gardner’s lawyers have been able to work in P4W, Outlook, Word and NetDocuments with one central repository for information.

“As with any IT rollout, it was crucial to ensure our lawyers were fully on board with the new systems,” said finance and IT manager Richard Price. “Implementing NetDocuments was the most well-received product change we have ever done. Our lawyers could immediately see how it could improve their ways of working, which was key to user adoption.”
