The British Legal Technology Forum (BLTF) has announced its full line up of speakers and the agenda for the UK event on 14 May, which includes award winning documentary maker Louis Theroux as keynote speaker and Professor Richard Susskind as conference chair.
Hosted at the Old Billingsgate in central London, the opening presentation will be from Nigel Tranter, chief digital officer at Orrick, who will talk about the five tenets of digital fluency. A regulatory panel will then look to the future of AI and the regulatory responsibilities surrounding that, with input from Ian Jeffrey, CEO of The Law Society of England and Wales and Richard Orpin, director of policy & regulation at the Legal Services Board, chaired by Susskind.
Other highlights include:
- Lounge stage chair Christina Blacklaws will facilitate a panel discussion on data decision making, AI tooling, hyper productivity & business transformation: speakers include Amanda Chaboryk, head of legal data and systems at PwC; Aimee Greene, data extraction specialist at PwC; and Nirbhay Sharma, data scientist at DLA Piper;
- In a session on ‘Build, Buy, Both or Integrate’, Shawn Curran from Travers Smith, Joe Cohen from Charles Russell Speechlys and Jeremy Morris from Clyde & Co will discuss future proofing for tomorrow and whether off-the-shelf tech can truly align with business processes and the needs of the business. The panel is chaired by Jenifer Swallow.
- Jo Owen, former CIO of Cripps, and Nirupa Wikramanayake, group CIO of Irwin Mitchell will have a practical conversational session entitled ‘Transformation Decoded.’ They will look at the real-life lessons of change and collaborative working.
- PLUS a panel discussion called Fist Full of Dollars led by Legal IT Insider’s editor Caroline Hill will look at the truth behind LLMs and Gen AI, including a look at budget decisions.
