Xakia launches legal matter management solution for small in-house legal teams

Australian-headquartered legal matter management vendor Xakia today (9 May) officially launches a new ‘out-of-the-box’ solution to meet the needs of smaller in-house teams, which has received positive customer testimonial (see below) and costs $70 USD per user per month.

Although half of in-house legal teams have 10 lawyers or fewer, Xakia’s research shows that compared to larger organisations, these smaller teams are 120% less likely to have access to a legal matter management solution, 71% less likely to have access to legal analytics software, and 56% less likely to have access to spend management tools.

“Historically, there haven’t been a great many options supporting smaller in-house legal teams,” said Xakia founder and group CEO Jodie Baker. “Between high up-front costs and the extensive customisation and ongoing management required, many organisations couldn’t take advantage of the latest wave of legal technology. Today I’m very proud that now even the smallest teams can take advantage of the same efficiency, visibility, and accountability that Xakia enables for our thousands of users worldwide.”

Starting today, in-house legal teams of any size can try Xakia at no cost for 14 days. It includes a includes a full suite of legal matter management capabilities, including centralised and searchable resource planning, data analytics, and connected intake and spend management workflows.

“Using Xakia’s streamlined intake process and internal client portal have been so much more efficient for me,” said Chuck Kable, chief legal officer at Axiom Medical. “I can see what the business needs, what their deadlines are and I have a place to store all relevant information, including emails, documents and even conversations about strategy. It provides transparency and visibility into where I am relative to a deadline on a given matter. If the sales team wants to know if I’ve looked at a contract yet, they don’t need to send multiple emails and messages, they can log into the Xakia portal for visibility, or provide me (general counsel) with real time updates to information or feedback on a matter.”

Lara Jimenez, general counsel & corporate secretary at Greater Western Water added: “We looked at a number of in-house matter management providers in the market but chose Xakia for its elegant and effective solutions. It’s one of the best decisions we’ve made. The implementation of Xakia was speedy and it provides us with a single legal hub for matter management, legal intake and spend management, as well as an internal client portal to communicate and connect with business clients and external counsel.”
