Opus 2 hires Greg Blackman as CEO

London-headquartered SaaS dispute resolution services provider Opus 2 has hired Greg Blackman as chief executive officer. Blackman, who is based in the US, joins from construction management software provider e-Builder, which in 2018 was acquired by asset lifecycle management solutions provider Trimble. He takes over from former CEO Martin Coen, who has left the business after four years.

We’re told that Blackman helped e-Builder generate a 5x revenue increase totalling an excess of $100m, culminating in its acquisition. He was previously regional vice president of SAP, and before that held sales manager and marketing roles in various software companies outside of the legal sector.

Charles-Hubert Le Baron, partner, mid-cap at Astorg, the private equity firm invested in Opus 2 said of Blackman: “He has the key distinctive skills required to take on this role: a background leading multifaceted and global organizations, a clear strategic vision, and strong experience in scaling software businesses,” adding, “Greg’s expertise will be an accelerator for Opus 2 and perfectly complements the strengths of the executive team.”

Already an established fixture in online litigation and hearings services, Opus 2 is focused on further expansion into pre-trial work, enabling law firms and corporate legal teams to more easily collaborate while preparing for and managing cases.

“Opus 2 clients are uniquely driven, creative, and innovative in their use of technology,” said Blackman. “The opportunity to deliver measurable value to them while also accelerating company growth is incredibly exciting.”
