Oddr expands into APAC with Pickering Pearce as implementation partner

Silicon Valley-founded ‘invoice-to-cash’ startup Oddr is expanding into the APAC region with law firm consultancy firm Pickering Pearce as its implementation partner in the region.

Oddr was founded in 2022 by three former Intappers; Milan Bobde, Sumit Garg and Saurabh Mehra. It will be leveraging Pickering Pearce’s advisory services and experience with complex billing for law firms. It is interesting to note that in May 2023, leading Australian law firm Lander & Rogers invited Oddr to join its 2023 LawTech Hub cohort, which according to Lander’s chief executive partner Genevieve Collins, focuses on “new solutions that will help shape the Australian and global legal landscape into the future.”

Ivan Costello, consultant director at Pickering Pearce, said: “Oddr have burst onto the scene offering a product designed to address real world challenges that law firm finance departments are currently experiencing. The Oddr product is a great addition to the legal technology landscape, and we truly believe in the value proposition that they can bring. We have seen firsthand the challenges this product solves across many different law firms. The Oddr team have had extensive collaboration with law firms to discuss day to day challenges with invoice to cash and their product has been built to directly address these challenges. We are very excited by this partnership at Pickering Pearce and look forward to delivering real value to clients.”

Bobde, who is CEO of Oddr, started his legal technology career at Elite before joining Intapp, where he was senior director of product management. Garg, who is CTO of Oddr, started at Intapp in 2011 as a senior software development manager before progressing over a decade to become senior director of engineering. And Mehra, who is chief product officer of Oddr, has held roles at the likes of Elite and Wilson Allen and was latterly director of product management at Intapp.

In January, Oddr announced the full rollout and general availability of its product, which aims to simplify billing and collections and eliminate revenue leakage. That followed a $2m funding round in 2022 led by Saama Capital and Twin Ventures, along with angel investors in the US, Singapore, and Germany. More recent news for Oddr includes the appointment this month of legal tech founder and serial investor Dan Wales as strategic advisor.

Speaking to Legal IT Insider last year, Bobde said: “We are built from the ground up for law firms and are focused entirely on the lifecycle of invoices. From the time an invoice is shipped out, up to collection, we give you insights and cash flow predictions so you know when you can expect to be paid and what your cashflow is for the next three months. But it’s also really easy for clients to pay in the same platform, which makes its seamless.”

Oddr’s customers include Wisconsin law firm von Briesen & Roper s.c and North Carolina firm Ward and Smith, P.A.
