London-based alternative business structure Conexus Law has become the second publicly-announced UK law firm to select Tessaract’s SaaS practice and case management system, we can reveal.
Conexus was founded in 2019 by former DLA Piper and Bird & Bird partner Ed Cooke. It specialises in advising IT infrastructure companies and their customers, clients involved in construction engineering, and tech clients.
The firm took on external funding in 2019, with Cooke commenting to Legal Futures at the time: “We’re looking to invest in that technology and we are trying to find the right system at the moment, which is quite a challenge because lots of the systems out there do bits of it very well but I’ve haven’t yet found one that does it all very well.
“In law firm terms we are relatively small so we haven’t got oodles of cash to spend on technology but what we are doing is spending a lot of energy… in making sure that we get the right systems in place that… will actually enable our lawyers to work in a less stressful way – so they always know where things stand and what they’ve got to do next.”
Commenting on the selection of Tessaract, finance and operations director Victoria Skidmore said: “We were impressed with Tessaractʼs all-in-one solution and the flexibility of their approach. The team at Tessaract impressed us with their professionalism and consultative approach during the process, and we look forward to seeing how the platform continues to develop over the near and longer term.”
She added: “There is much synergy between Conexus Law and Tessaract as we are both challenger brands in markets dominated by larger players.”
